Three half-day art workshops were held between the 19th and 21st of August, for children and young people from Margaret Kennedy Road to create art installations for the fence running along the road.
These workshops were run by ReCreate Ireland, a social enterprise specialising in educational art projects and using recycled materials.
The last of these workshops also involved other family activities such as food and snacks, music, target football, limbo and other games, and was opened up to children from the surrounding streets also.
Even with the occasional run-ins with rain, the children were very successful with their art work and at least 30 children and young people took part over the three days. Please see some pictures of the process as well as finished installations in the gallery.
